With the generous support of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Samanvit Shiksha Sansthan (SSS) successfully implemented a Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) initiative in the Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. The project focused on promoting menstrual health and hygiene among adolescent girls and women through the installation of sanitary napkin vending machines in government schools and colleges, ensuring easy and dignified access to sanitary products.
In addition to infrastructure support, a series of awareness sessions were conducted to educate students on menstrual hygiene practices, dispel myths and taboos surrounding menstruation, and encourage open dialogue on women’s health issues. These sessions were led by trained resource persons and health educators who engaged participants through interactive discussions, demonstrations, and health education materials.
The initiative has played a crucial role in improving attendance and confidence among adolescent girls while promoting a safe, hygienic, and inclusive school environment. By combining health education with practical solutions, BPCL and Samanvit Shiksha Sansthan have taken a meaningful step toward empowering young girls and advancing the cause of women’s health and dignity in rural India.
